At the time of spawning the parents become very aggressive and the members which were tolerable before comes on their hit list. So remove any other fish else they will be killed soon .

After 3-4 days eggs will hatch and hundreds of fry will come out. You don't need to separate parents. As cichlid love their children and they will take care of them. You can give them newly hatched brine shrimps or crushed flake food. Maintain good water quality by subsequent small water changes at regular interval of time.
